Summary
Commute Ready prepares a morning train-commute and clothing briefing. It has no account, advertising, analytics, or application database. Settings stay on your device; live requests are processed transiently; SMB Gray does not collect or retain personal or usage data.
Information stored on your device
The app stores your chosen home and office stations, usual journey, selected office weekdays, notification time, Skip Next Briefing state, delivery bookkeeping, and latest Morning Briefing in app-private storage. Android backup is disabled. This information remains until you erase settings in the app or uninstall it.
Information processed for live briefings
For a live briefing, the app sends the home and office station codes, local date, time zone, and usual departure time over HTTPS to the Commute Ready service on Cloudflare Workers. Office weekdays, notification time, Skip Next Briefing state, and the stored usual-journey legs are not sent.
The service uses station and time information to request journey options from NS. It uses the public coordinates of the office station and the forecast interval to request weather from Open-Meteo. Requests are used only to return the current briefing and are not stored in an application database or persistent application cache. Application request bodies and commute parameters are not intentionally logged.
Service providers
Cloudflare processes requests as the service host. NS processes the journey query, and Open-Meteo processes the public office-station coordinates and forecast interval. These providers may process infrastructure-level technical data under their own policies. See the Cloudflare privacy policy, NS privacy statement, and Open-Meteo terms.
Weather attribution
Weather data by Open-Meteo.com. Weather data is adapted and normalized for Commute Ready and is provided under the CC BY 4.0 licence.
Android permissions and notifications
Commute Ready requests notification permission only on Android versions that require it and only after showing a Morning Briefing preview. Denying permission does not remove your setup. Android controls notification delivery, lock-screen visibility, and background timing.
Your choices
You can change Android notification access from the app's Settings screen. Choosing Erase settings cancels the pending briefing schedule and removes the locally stored commute, briefing, skip, and delivery state.
Changes and contact
Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@smbgray.com. Product support is available at support@smbgray.com. SMB Gray may update this policy when the app's data practices or service providers change.
